"With his debut album "Inspiration" (jpc 8097277), the young Munich native stormed the classical music charts of major streaming platforms worldwide and immediately reached the Top 30 pop download charts in Germany.
Dozens of concerts, TV appearances and a major tour of Eastern Europe later, Florian Christl's second album "Episodes" is released by Sony Classical. "Episodes" is a multifaceted musical journey through the world of classical sounds. Florian Christl lets his compositions, interspersed with stirring melodies, shine in a variety of timbres and at the same time assembles pieces for solo piano, piano and string quintet, four-handed piano or for piano and solo cello on his album. The refined arrangements, the discreet use of synthesizers and the picking up of classical and baroque motives of Beethoven and Vivaldi show Florian Christl's impressive musical development of the past years.
Florian Christl was able to win a number of outstanding performers from the young classical music scene as co-musicians. The violinist Esther Abrami, who lives in England and comes from France, plays the solo violin in "Lights". She studied at the Royal College of Music and is also successful as an influencer with over 200, 000 followers on Instagram and Stories about classical music. A special highlight is the variation on the Coriolan Overture by Beethoven for four hands on the piano. The French neoclassical star Piano Novel Florian Christl jumps to the side. The string ensemble is "The Modern String Quintet" with the cellist Gereon Theis, who also participated in the recordings of "Inspiration".
Each of the pieces on "Episodes" is inspired by a particular emotion, mood or experience. Episodes in the life of the composer, full of love, longing and hope. Seemingly effortlessly, soft and heavy sounds, dreamy and dramatic pitches, dancing rhythms and dramatic movements alternate. Melancholic and euphoric, dark and cheerful, heavy and light lie close together here
The composer and pianist Florian Christl, who now lives in Munich, was born in Amberg in 1990. His musical journey began at the age of six years when he began piano lessons with his sister. Florian Christl is, as he says himself, passionate about the piano from the very first second. However, after graduating from high school, he studied neither composition nor piano. Rather, he is an autodidact. His pieces are created by "simply sitting down at the piano, playing something and letting it happen". Without concept and without prediction, he brings such passionate compositions, which work on the emotional level, first to paper and then into the ears of his listeners.
