01. Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Major, Op. 8: I. Allegro con brio
02. Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Major, Op. 8: II. Allegretto quasi andantino
03. Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Major, Op. 8: III. Allegro molto vivace

06. Introduction & Variations in A Major on Rossini's Di tanti palpiti (Version for Violin & Piano)
07. Fantasy in C Major, Op. 159, D. 934
Composers
Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Mario (1895-1968)
Grieg, Edvard Hagerup (1843-1907)
Paganini, Niccolò (1782-1840)
Schubert, Franz Peter (1797-1828)
Tchaikovsky, Piotr Ilyich (1840-93)
One of Semenenko’s strengths is his impeccable tuning. The dark, throaty low register of his violin sings eloquently in Tchaikovsky’s Sérénade mélancolique; the upper end glistens impishly in the Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Figaro (‘Concert Paraphrase on Rossini’s Barber of Seville’); more Rossini for inspiration in Paganini’s I palpiti (on Tancredi), a staggeringly tough ask that Semenenko despatches with aplomb. The recording is top drawer, capturing Semenenko’s bright, appealing tone perfectly.
