Seventh studio album by the Canadian pop-punk band. The album is a follow-up to 2016's '13 Voices' and marks the return of guitarist Dave Baksh, who originally left the band in 2006. Canadian punk rock band Sum 41 will release its seventh full-length album "Order In Decline" on July 19 via Hopeless Records. The disc is described in the press release as "undoubtedly the heaviest and most aggressive album Sum 41 to date, as well as the most dynamic and raw."
For three years of relentless touring in support of the massive comeback of the album “13 Voices”, frontman Derik Whibley assiduously collected the ideas of the songs, which eventually became “Order In Decline”. Within three weeks after returning home, most of the music for the new album was written, and then it was time for the lyrics.
Without realizing it, Whibible saw how the lyrics of the songs reflect his reaction to the all-pervasive division, racism and hatred throughout the world, further emphasized by the repulsive social and political unrest invading his own countries - the United States and Canada. "The last thing I wanted to do was to record an album of social or political protest, and Order In Decline is not a social or political protest at all," explains Weeblee. Instead, "Order in Decline" is an explosion of liberated feeling, a page from his diary, a window into his soul, where he reflects on extremely personal and painful events, because, as he admits, "it is very difficult not to have some kind of personal relationship , any feelings about everything that happens in the world. "
