The power that Pamela’s singing has to move an audience owes a lot to the acting experience which shaped her career.
Pamela trained at The American Conservatory Theatre and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After several yeas as an actress in New York, Pamela based herself in Europe to pursue jazz where she established herself as an international jazz vocalist, recording artist, and teacher of voice.
The wide-ranging appeal of her talent has taken her on a musical odyssey around the world. She is equally at home at Ronnie Scott’s Club in London, in a Paris jazz cellar, at a supper club in Istanbul, appearing in concert with the Christ Church Symphony Orchestra in New Zealand, as well as in jazz festivals throughout Australia. She has performed Thirteen Kinds of Desire at the Chicago Humanities Festival, Princeton University, The Bowery Poets Club, and Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater.
Pamela’s self produced CDs Love Dance, Boites de Jazz and Thirteen Kinds of Desire, have received rave reviews which place her in the mainstream of today’s outstanding jazz vocalists.
Thirteen Kinds of Desire is a collaboration of revised myths and contemporary story-telling produced, co-written and sung by Pamela with 13 original compositions set to the lyrics of Pulitzer Prize winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa.
