Tim Schmidt - While Pushing the Blues Away (2019)

With his folk and country tunes, Schmidt played over 250 shows in Europe and has released six solo albums in Germany/Canada and Sweden since 2010. The last one; Temporary Release was available shortly in 2017-2018.

As a one-man-show, armed with a six string, suitcase and baryton-voice, Swedish born Tim Schmidt, has toured Europe since 2008, as well as released five solo albums in Germany (labels: Analogsoul & Thanks for the Postcard) and Sweden (TINAR) since 2010.

His voice, songwriting and fingerpicking strikingly resembles the gentle art of a legend and his intimate live recorded sessions possess a dreamlike veneer. The stor​ies, often tales of obsessions, are told with a voice between Michael Hurley, Nick Drake & Jeff Buckley and is accompanied by an dexterous acoustic 6-string playing, or in a cocktail of acoustic instruments, in pump organ fueled rooms of typewriters with do-woops, old tapes and tv-chatter, blending with his voice, that unmistakable vocal delivery that binds it.

Today music spills into video collages and imagery and blend with his Haiku-esque writings. This is easiest found on his Youtube channel where he continuously since 2017 uploads new and old gems.
