Formed in 1994, Mad Season was comprised of vocalist Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), guitarist Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), drummer/percussionist Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) and bassist John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts, Lamont Cranston Band). Above, the Gold-certified work, is the Seattle-based rock super group’s landmark debut. It broke into Billboard’s Top Thirty and includes the massive standouts “I Don’t Know Anything” and “River Of Deceit.” It is the only completed album of Layne Staley’s introspective and mystical lyrics, which were highlighted by additional vocals from Screaming Trees’ vocalist Mark Lanegan and Seattle-based saxophonist/percussionist Skerik. This deluxe edition features the exhilarating bonus tracks “Locomotive,” “Black Book Of Fear,” “Slip Away” and “I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier.”
