Recently, after many years of musical inactivity, I decided to go back through my archives to update, remaster, and finally release some albums. One drone, one ambient, one techno. Some tracks needed a little touching up, some needed major overhauls, but all eventually fell naturally into one of the three releases apart from ‘Sleeper Service’.
‘Sleeper Service’ had a working title of ‘Homage’. I was listening to Autechre’s ‘Chiastic Slide’ a lot at the time and wanted to make something with similarly clanking rhythms. I can’t pretend that it touches the heights of Autechre, but it seemed like a good effort. And it felt like it deserved an album building around it. And so, in three weeks of trains, planes, and jet-lagged early mornings, Pile of Worlds emerged.
