Initially blues-infused jug-band rockers, later displaying Beefheartian elements with baroque arrangements. Late 60's jug-band blues outfit led by Denis Parker alongside Gary Compton and Brian Strachan.
Panama Limited Jug Band is named after a Bukka White song (from 1930) The band was based in the Richmond area of London, which at the time was kind of a hotbed for blues (the Crawdaddy Club), especially acoustic style blues. Denis became disenchanted with the music business, leaving the industry.
After the first LP they shortened their name to Panama Ltd by which time Liz Hanns had left and been replaced by Anne Matthews.
This second album replaces their early jugband sound with a brand of Beefheart - influenced prog rock.
