As time goes by, there are losses we are bound to experience along the way. Dear people passing away, lasting relationships coming to closure, loss of purpose and feeling hopeless and helpless – it’s all there. Sometimes it feels impossible to go on, unbearable to think of another day coming only to bring more bad news. We are put to the test against our will; we are forced to endure with no idea of what is there around the corner. The saying goes, a ship is safe in harbour but that is not what ships are built for. All of us, you and me, we are the ships. The vessels that often find themselves in terrifyingly restless waters with no land on the horizon; there are nights with not a single star in the sky, and yet we must navigate in the stifling void of uncertainty. However, any storm will end, and any rain will stop; there will be more lights in the night sky than you can imagine, and you will reach those friendly shores that you so desire. Don’t let anything sink your vessel; keep it above the water no matter what. The sea will be dead calm and it will be furious, there will be ghastly rocks surrounding you and there will be lagoons with no current. Your ship must sail ahead, and you are in charge of setting the course.
