Antiphon Trio - Chronolucence (2026) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Antiphon Trio

CHRONOLUCENCE is a project by the trio Antiphon, exploring asynchronous sound and elastic time through experimental electroacoustic music. The ensemble—Michael Centuri, Chris Fisher-Lochhead, and Zach Layton—uses Pauline Oliveros’s Expanded Instrument System (EIS) to reimagine the perception of time. By transforming acoustic signals with delay lines and spatial algorithms, the project brings together human improvisation and responsive technology. This collaboration is an active partnership: the musicians interact continuously with the system, exchanging musical cues. The resulting soundscapes explore geological processes, mythical deep time, and organic cellular systems. Building on Oliveros’s legacy, the album demonstrates the evolution of EIS—from analog magnetic tape loops to modern AI-based software. Ultimately, CHRONOLUCENCE creates a transformative sonic environment in which the past, present, and future of sound coexist simultaneously.
