Munda - Delia (2026)

"The spooky standout is ‘Delia (Lisergia Interior)’, where someone whistles a sombre melody and a bird seems to flutter about before the organ groans in and clicks and rustles activate synthetic echoes. Munda beams into our ears a hologram of the recording’s unique setting, and the eerie imprint it seemingly left on him." – Daryl Worthington, Spool's Out column, The Quietus

Recorded in September 2021 during a residency at Konvent, a former convent in the abandoned industrial colony of Cal Rosal in the lower Catalan Pyrenees, 'Delia' finds Munda (Selu Herraiz) working directly with the traces of the site’s industrial past.

The building once housed a textile factory where hundreds of women worked the looms. Herraiz approached its remains as source material, using field recordings and a battered Yamaha Electone organ with broken keys, captured through a dynamic microphone placed in front of its speaker. Glass, rusted iron, corrugated plastic and the resonances of the building itself become part of the album’s raw, tactile sound world.

Across four pieces, 'Delia' develops through primitive electronics and unstable organ tones, with the physical character of the recording site always present beneath the surface. The album considers how places retain traces of what has happened within them, and how those traces can be made audible.

The title Delia comes from the Greek root dēl- (δηλ-), meaning "to show" or "to reveal". The album takes this idea literally, bringing hidden remnants of a place into view through sound.

'Delia' is released jointly by Annihaya Records and Sucata Tapes.
