Indie rock band sundots will release their second album, On The Quay, on November 6, 2026, via Nettwerk. The record marks the band’s debut as a full lineup, allowing them to expand their familiar guitar sound into spacious, atmospheric arrangements. The musicians drew inspiration from the aesthetics of Duster, Red House Painters, and Karate. The songwriting process began in a Vermont cabin in late 2025, while the final studio sessions were overseen by producer Kevin S. McMahon. He focused on preserving the band’s live energy, aiming to capture the essence of sundots’ performances in the studio. The lyrics by songwriter Collins are deeply connected to literary works, including those of Ian McEwan, James Joyce, and David Foster Wallace. Through these cultural references, On The Quay explores themes of personal experience, unrequited love, and scattered attention.
