Celimene Daudet - Célimène Daudet plays Sakamoto (2026) [Hi-Res]

Célimène Daudet interprets Ryuichi Sakamoto – For her fifth solo album on NoMadMusic, Célimène Daudet explores the work of a composer who never had to choose between two worlds: Ryuichi Sakamoto, a brilliant melodist and versatile musician, masterfully blended his diverse influences into his music —from the purity of Satie to the tenderness of Schumann and Chopin, to the light-and-dark harmonies of Ravel and Debussy, the hypnotic effect of Glass, and the ethereal elegance of Bill Evans’s jazz. From “Solitude” to “Energy Flow,” culminating in the unforgettable theme from “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” (soundtrack to “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence”), Célimène Daudet explores this iconic repertoire as if on a journey through a shared memory—and restores to the solo piano all the evocative power of an inner cinema.
