"Not What You Want But What You Deserve" is a vinyl sampler compilation by the NYC-based indie rock band Just Desserts, released on October 24, 2026. This special release marks the 40th anniversary of Larry Fessenden's independent production company, Glass Eye Pix.
The group was formed by the musical duo Tom Laverack (guitar, vocals) and Larry Fessenden (vocals, saxophone), who have been writing and playing together since 1979. Their live lineup features Mark Ambrosino (drums), Dave Richards (base), and Dave Morgan (keyboards).
During the height of the underground scene, the band was a staple at legendary NYC venues such as CBGB, the Pyramid Club, and the Knitting Factory. Laverack's music has been a mainstay across Fessenden’s cinematic filmography, including his latest feature Trauma Or, Monsters All (2026). Prior to this sampler, the band's most recent full-length studio release was the 2025 album Curtains.
