Hentopan - Kiwi Trip (2026)

Kiwi Trip is an eclectic exploration of inner and outer worlds. Built from musical ideas and sound design gathered over the past year, these 13 tracks are inspired by a recent journey from New Zealand back to Belgium via Sri Lanka.

It was a chance to reconnect with a place I’ve always loved and deeply missed. Being on the move, exploring new places and life on the road have always been a source of inspiration for me. And there’s something about the mindset of being on holiday — a sense of freedom, openness and celebration — that finds its way into the music.

From nature-drenched downtempo chill vibes to emotional, explosive dancefloor journeys, Kiwi Trip follows the inspiration wherever it leads. Rather than setting out to achieve a particular sound or fit into a genre, I wanted to approach these musical anecdotes with curiosity, letting each idea unfold in its own way.

The result is 13 distinct tracks, created over the course of three months, each with its own character and direction, chronologically following the itinerary of our trip. There are echoes of lounge music, ’90s rave styles, goa trance and festival culture, but always with a twist — something familiar, yet not quite what you’d expect.

I hope to take you along for the ride, wherever these sounds may lead you. And if you find a little joy, peace or solace somewhere along the way, then the journey has been worth it.
