In the early 1990s, Basehead emerged on Washington, D.C.’s alternative music scene with its hybrid of rock and hip-hop. Frontman Michael Ivey led the group, which eventually featured Clarence Greenwood as its DJ—now known as Citizen Cope. The band’s debut album, *Play with Toys*, became a big hit with college radio listeners after its release in 1992. Recently, SuperVisible Multi Media partnered with Ivey to distribute *Play with Toys* through digital music stores. The initiative aims to introduce a new generation of listeners to the band’s groundbreaking sound.
