Kevin Keller - Altus (2026) [Hi-Res]

Kevin Keller - Altus (2026) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Kevin Keller

ALTUS is the new instrumental album by Keller, made up of ten interconnected pieces running about an hour. It is a meditative pilgrimage inward: from curiosity and mystery through anticipation and memory to transcendence and a sense of homecoming. With no words or doctrine, listeners bring their own beliefs and questions; the album engages questions of life, mortality, beauty and transcendence that the musician has carried for more than thirty years, yet it offers no answers and never becomes autobiographical. Over its course the perspective shifts gently from the individual self toward something larger, appealing to emotional and spiritual recognition rather than intellectual understanding. The material grew out of improvisation, without a predetermined concept. Its sound rests on Keller’s familiar palette — piano, organ, celesta, Moog and Juno synthesizers — joined by an unexpected catalyst, the Solar 42 synthesizer, whose distinctive voice entered into a dialogue with them. The result is a sonic landscape that feels both intimate and expansive, pairing acoustic warmth with luminous electronic textures.
