Trojan Records: After Dark is a thematic compilation released by the iconic Trojan Records label, exploring the dark, mystic, and supernatural undercurrents of vintage Jamaican music from the late 1960s and 1970s. The release gathers classic cuts, dubs, and roots anthems centered around Caribbean folklore, obeah, vampire lore, and nocturnal dread, showcasing a spookier, heavier side of reggae's golden era.
Featuring contributions from foundational figures and architects of the sound such as Lee "Scratch" Perry, The Upsetters, Max Romeo, The Wailers, King Horror, and Desmond Dekker, the 21-track compilation delivers a hypnotic atmosphere built on sparse basslines, haunting organ lines, and eerie production aesthetics. After Dark serves as both a curated journey through Kingston's supernatural imaginary and a tribute to the darker, more atmospheric margins of the Trojan vaults.
