RIP Magic - 1,2,3 (2026) Hi-Res

London’s RIP Magic have built a cult following in the swift span of just two years thanks to a steady IV drip of buzzy singles and a feeding frenzy of sold-out live shows. Billed as a “rock record with no guitars,” their debut for section1 has the renegade energy of !!!, the impish turntablism of Gorillaz, the brash dance punk of LCD Soundsystem, and none of the nostalgia-bait. Put another way, RIP Magic is to Southeast London what Lip Critic is to NYC’s Lower East Side. (Case in point: They held their album playback at a soundsystem carmeet outside a football club in Bermondsey on airwave-defying, bass-modded speakers). Everything from UK rave, ghettotech, and grime to psych and dancehall lend influence to the band’s sample-heavy, narcotic atmosphere, where dub samples are laced with metallic distortion and vocalist Marco Pini conveys brainrot maximalism with understated remove. RIP Magic are in their own lane and tearing up the tracks behind them as they go.
