American singer-songwriter Coyle Girelli, formerly the frontman of the alternative rock band Your Vegas (later The Chevin), has released a deluxe edition of Out of This Town. The original came out in 2025 on the legendary Sun Records. The album grew out of late-night sessions with Mac Davis, the writer behind hits for Elvis Presley and Kenny Rogers. Those sessions began in 2013 and ran for hours, fueled by coffee, guitars and yellow legal pads. They became a friendship between two writers of different generations, united by a love of classic American songwriting.
The new edition adds previously unreleased recordings from Sun Studio, stripped-down demos that show the songs in their raw beginnings, and an alternate version of I Wanna Make Love sung by Mac Davis himself. It preserves the voice of one of America’s most beloved songwriters. KT Tunstall, Jaime Wyatt and Cassandra Lewis contribute. The edition runs to 19 tracks. The original album’s cinematic ballads and noir-soaked storytelling are joined by six videos: two are already out, and four more will follow through January. On November 2, Coyle Girelli plays New York’s Mercury Lounge.
Coyle Girelli is also co-founder of Calm and Collected Music Group. He has signed major deals in the UK and US, toured with Duran Duran and Franz Ferdinand, written for Macklemore and BTS, and worked with Linda Perry. Sun Records, founded by Sam Phillips in 1952, discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis. It is now part of the Sun Label Group under Primary Wave, and its artists Ruthie Foster and Robert Randolph won Grammys in 2025 and 2026.
