Lost Animal - Give Some Get Some (2026) Hi-Res

After a decade of doing other things, Jarrod Quarrell returns with the third Lost Animal album, proving his knack for melodies that are as fragile as they are beautiful. This time, Dan Luscombe (The Drones) joins him behind the desk, bringing a hands-on production touch that gives these ten new songs the scope of a full band without sanding down their eccentric edges.

Uptempo one moment, balladic the next, Give Some Get Some lives up to its title. Yes, there are guitars, but the structures that synths, drum machines, and horns bring to the table provide a totally different vibe than the one that normally blows over from Australia. Over the woozy grooves, at times reminiscent of the Madchester sound (at least listen to standout track Bowl of Berries), the lyrics here turn inward, making this record a world of its own, well worth exploring.
