A.k.Adrix - 333 (2026)

Angolan-Portuguese manc resident A.K.Adrix galvanises his sound with traces of drill, techno, plasmic sound design and dislodged samples on a killer 3rd drop with Príncipe - FFO DJ Znobia, Nazar, DJ N Fox...
Still cultishly renowned for his 2 min burst of ruthless energy ‘6.6.6.’, off 2018’s ‘Album Desconhecido’, it’s fair to say A.K.Adrix’s work has got slicker over the last 8 years, but still inflected with a dare-to-differ audness that sets his work deep within, and apart, from the Lisbon crowd - quite literally as he lives in Manchester, but hews tight as ever to the Angolan-Portuguese club code on ‘333’.

Under the angel number he dances in that space where pop, club, and weird electronic music naturally coexist, messing with mutant form and upfront function that get the best out of your special leisure time - aka raving. The bullishness of his early work feels more concentrated in line with 2020’s ‘Código De Barras’ album on this new lot, which move sharper and sexier under the club spotlights.

Opener ‘Shift’ works a crafty transition from playful bleep skip to see-sawing grind, and ‘UFO Club’ gives it up for the UAPs with discordant sci-fi ‘tronics locked to speaker-burst bass, and is that a John Barry sample threaded thrush slosh of ‘Ilha Selvagem’? B-side opens to a standout hybrid of batida x drill, ‘ADHD’ - all metal-on-metal friction and gangsta foley - next to a swaggering ace ‘Magnetico Digital’, and outstanding closer ‘Keyboard’, freaking the melody with chipmunk vox and berimbau twang shades away from modern Brazilian street rave pressures.
