A Californian quintet playing psychedelic rock in late-1960s San Francisco began as The Ban and then became The Now. In 1967, when the controversial psychedelic entrepreneur Matthew Katz became their manager, the band changed its name. They shared stages with all the major San Francisco acts of the era and created some of the best recordings to come out of the city. However, they never achieved widespread success: their only album, recorded back in those years, was not released until June 1971. It was later reissued in remastered form with five rare bonus tracks from earlier sessions and detailed historical notes. This edition is considered essential for fans of authentic American acid rock.
