Mary Ann Hawkins - Waves Won't Lie / Rumble (2026) [Hi-Res]

Finland’s hottest surf rock band Mary Ann Hawkins are set to release a special compilation of their early EP’s Waves Won’t Lie / Rumble, completed with five unreleased tracks via Svart Records.

This release brings together the band’s self-released EP’s Waves Won’t Lie (2017) and Rumble (2019), both of which have long been sold out. In addition to the original EP’s, the release features five previously unreleased tracks from the same era. However, these tracks were only recorded in the studio in the spring of 2026 specifically for this release and the EP’s have also been remastered for the compilation.

Mary Ann Hawkins has been a familiar sight at leading festivals, skate events’ after-parties, squats across Central Europe and Finnish concert halls alike. The secret behind the band’s unique sound lies in combining traditional surf and steel guitar – aided, among other things, by the lead saxophone – to create a cinematic atmosphere, ranging all the way to the world of spaghetti westerns, without forgetting the fast-paced rock’n’roll rumble. Their elegant visuals and short-film-style music videos have also captivated both fans and critics alike, and the band has been hailed as Finland’s best live band and the new kings of surf rock.
