Andreas K. Westmark - Nipster (Original Score) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Andreas K. Westmark - Nipster (Original Score) (2026) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Andreas K. Westmark

Composer Andreas K. W. has released the original score for the Swedish film “Nipster” on Invada Records — a 53-minute album that came out on the day of the film’s Swedish theatrical release. Director Sunniva Eir made it clear from the start that she did not want traditional film music. So the composer, together with sound designer Frederik Lehmann, recorded sounds directly on set using contact and electromagnetic interference microphones: squeaky faucets, crickets in a Swedish forest, electrical buzzing in the basement of an old asylum, and sticks and mallets striking every available surface. The entire score is built solely from these materials. For the composer, this is the most extreme realization of a long-standing obsession — discovering sounds that belong to a film’s world and letting them shape the music. The film itself is a dark coming-of-age story: a teenager named Chris joins what she believes is a youth climate summer camp, which turns out to be a front for far-right eco-fascists, and she is gradually drawn into their movement. The film deals with radicalization, personal transformation, and the desire to belong and be seen. The album was mastered by James Trevascus, with additional sound design on several tracks by Lehmann, and the album master was funded by Kodakultur.
