"The Divide" is the second full-length studio album by the American psychedelic trio Snake Mountain Revival from Virginia Beach, released on October 23, 2026, via the respected Californian indie label Ripple Music. The album marks their official debut on the label and expands on the ideas laid out in their successful 2021 release, "Everything In Sight."
The album's title translates as "The Rift" or "The Separation." The musicians acknowledge that the album was their attempt to reflect on "the chaos of the world around us, personal upheaval, and a country on fire." Frontman Ryan Chandler describes the concept as a sonic confrontation, where melancholic and beautiful melodies suddenly explode into a crushing wall of sound. He says the album is meant to remind us that defending beauty, love, and peace sometimes requires "showing our teeth," and the band shows theirs through this music. The album's material is raw, uncompromising, and free. In anticipation of its release, the singles "The Divide," the hypnotic track "Prowler" (featuring vocalist Ana from the project communitywitch), and the dynamic number "Main Line" were released.
