Carlo Savina - Savina's Western (2026) [Hi-Res]

Carlo Savina - Savina's Western (2026) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Carlo Savina

In the late 1970s, Italian composer Carlo Savina released Savina’s Western through Minstrel, on his own BAM label, a compilation of music drawn from his western film scores. Its sources include the films E Dio disse a Caino, La Colt è la mia legge and Pochi Dollari per Django. Three tracks feature the vocalist Don Powell, whose voice is warm and magnetic. The record shows how Savina approached the sound of the Italian western: orchestral themes sit alongside dusty, parched atmospheres and unmistakable cinematic tension. For many years the album was impossible to find. It is now being reissued digitally for the first time, bringing this lesser-known chapter of Savina’s work back to listeners.
