"Radar Bros." is the self-titled debut studio album by the American indie rock band Radar Brothers (also known as Radar Bros.) from Los Angeles. It was released on April 29, 1997, on the independent label Restless Records.
"Radar Bros." is an atmospheric record, filled with a quiet melancholy, apathy, and solitude. Founding member, vocalist, and guitarist Jim Putnam (formerly of the shoegaze band Medicine), recorded most of the tracks at his home studio, Skylab. His sleepy, soft, and detached vocals float over the dense yet minimalist bass lines of Senon Williams and the measured drum rhythms of Steve Goodfriend. The album perfectly captures the aesthetic of the American underground of the late '90s—the music of abandoned roads, deserted landscapes, and melancholy evenings.
