"Room Of Songs" is a live double album by American rock musician and singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo, released in 2005 under the moniker Alejandro Escovedo String Quintet (or & His String Quintet).
"Room Of Songs" holds a special place in the musician's discography, as it was recorded live in Austin, Texas, during two landmark concerts at the Cactus Cafe on February 28 and March 1, 2005. For this recording, Escovedo assembled a magnificent string quintet. The cellos and violins here don't simply provide background music; they serve as full-fledged lead instruments, taking on the role of riffs and harsh solos, creating a dramatic, and at times dark, mesmerizing sound. The album was released as a limited edition fan club exclusive on the musician's own label, More Miles Than Money Records (also supported by Backporch). The album is packaged in a vintage vinyl gatefold sleeve, with two CDs inserted into the sleeves.
