Robert J Hunter - Before the Dawn (2015)

Critics unanimously cite Robert's unique, raspy, and incredibly powerful voice as the signature feature of "Before the Dawn." Still in his early twenties, Hunter sings with the intensity, depth, and sandpapery texture of seasoned, seasoned bluesmen.
The album was recorded on the island of Guernsey, and mixed by British producer Andy "Hippie" Baldwin. The album's sound is dense and vibrant. Conceptually, the work takes the listener to dark, haunting, and psychologically complex places. The lyrics are steeped in themes of inner demons, depression, and mental anguish ("They Think That I'm Fine," "Crows"), masked behind energetic, even funky, guitar structures ("Running Gun").
