702 - No Doubt (Expanded Edition) (2026)

BAND/ARTIST: 702

The Las Vegas trio 702 made their debut with No Doubt, released on October 8, 1996 via Motown and Biv 10 Records. In 2026 the record marks its 30th anniversary with a limited-edition reissue on “Transparent Clearwater” vinyl. Its sound rests on a hip-hop soul attitude and carefully crafted vocal harmonies, capturing the evolution of mid-’90s R&B. The key singles are “Steelo” featuring Missy Elliott and “Get It Together”. Production by The Characters and Donell Jones pairs groove-heavy rhythms with melodic hooks, making the album radio-friendly while keeping a street edge. It climbed to No. 82 on the Billboard 200, sold over 500,000 copies and was certified Gold in the U.S. That success, together with awards and charting singles, established 702 as one of the most promising R&B groups of their era. Today it stands as a document of late-’90s R&B, a moment when girl-group harmonies met hip-hop energy.
