Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Morten Martens of Kristiansand spent more than twenty years working behind the scenes, including winning a Spellemann Award (the Norwegian Grammy) for hip-hop production. A contract with New York’s Big Crown Records pushed him to release his own music as Les Imprimés. His 2023 debut, Rêverie, built a devoted following and took him from the studio to the stage. He recorded his second album, Fading Forward (April 2026), almost entirely alone: he played most of the instruments, produced, arranged and sang. The record deals with mortality, escapism and the different faces of love. It blends 1960s–70s soul, doo-wop-style arrangements, hip-hop drum energy and vocals drawn from 1990s–2000s alternative, with an infectious, pop-minded approach to songwriting. The album opens with “You & I”, a tribute to his partner. “Get Lost” invites listeners into a world of dreams, and the closing track, “Paradise”, wishes peace to a friend who has died. On October 16, 2026, the label announced the release of an instrumental version, Fading Forward (Instrumentals).
