Swedish musician and producer Baba Stiltz has released «Totally» on the Public Possession label—a meditative work blending downbeat, electronica, and leftfield elements. Tracked in Helsinki alongside a drummer, with all overdubs completed within a tight five-day window, the record retains a stripped-down, organic production style where spatial resonance, rhythmic repetition, and nuanced sonic textures take center stage.
Thematically, the album explores loss, grief, long drives along the I-5, and keen observations of daily routine. The pieces balance between deadpan melancholy and deliberately off-kilter melodies. Moments of complete silence alternate with subtle vocal cues and casual sing-alongs to Roger Miller. Featuring ten tracks—ranging from succinct pieces to the expansive nine-minute centerpiece "Later"—the release delivers a highly focused and atmospherically dense sonic narrative.
