Polish jazz group Omasta from Kraków made a rapid breakthrough on the European scene within a single year, performing over a hundred concerts across numerous countries and collaborating with artists such as Aquiles Navarro (Irreversible Entanglements), Tenderlonious, Wildchild, Stacy Epps, Shirley Jones, Bina., Marysia Osu, and Leszek Żądło. Intense touring and shared live experiences shaped a unified musical language among the members, blending the eclectic sound of Detroit beats, Los Angeles beats, instrumental hip-hop, and 1970s fusion.
The band’s second album, "Hits Different", builds upon the ideas of their successful debut "Jazz Report From The Hood", expanding its sonic scope through bolder use of electronics, space, and new compositional approaches while keeping live improvisation at its core. Structurally, the record shifts from the musicians' personal perspective to that of a narrator, lending the album a cinematic quality. The music and track titles guide the listener through a wide emotional spectrum from joy to anxiety and disorientation, concluding in a story without a happy ending.
