Aurora Nishevci, multi-instrumentalist and contributing songwriter of the British art-rock band The Last Dinner Party, is launching her own project, Rora and the Untamed, with composer Nathen Durasamy. Durasamy was born in Britain to a Mauritian family and works in film and television. He has also done orchestration for Jax Jones and the producer INFLO. The two met while working on the orchestration for The Last Dinner Party’s second album, From The Pyre, and decided to keep collaborating as a standalone duo.
Their debut album, Do You Like Me Now?, has ten tracks and comes out on October 9, 2026, on Island Records. The first single is “Savage White Swan”, which already has a music video. This is a new role for Nishevci: a member of an ensemble who worked alongside the frontpeople, she now steps to the front of the stage.
The record’s central theme is the duo’s relationship to being artists. They describe it as an inner conflict: wanting to be seen and wanting to stay unseen, wanting to remain in the shadows and wanting the spotlight. The album examines their motivations, relationships and careers. Historical subjects sit alongside personal experience. “Artisan Lover”, the second track, draws on Greek mythology. The title track addresses the messages directed at girls in patriarchal societies and the racial prejudice faced by people of color in classical music. The tracklist also includes “High Water”, “Wash It Off”, “The Hearse”, “Tiara”, “Valkyries”, “Silicone Sunshine” and the closing track “His Neck Is Fragile”.
