Struktur - Levitation (2026)

Berlin-based Struktur (aka Frieder Blume) touches down on Maloca with Levitation, his debut release for the label. Drawing on a slew of electronic styles and genres, the album offers up a nebulous yet consistent body of hypnotic, club-forward explorations grounded in gradual, long-form evolution.

Across its runtime, the LP balances rich sound design with an implicit understanding of dancefloor-focused movement, realising into being a series of evocative, floating sonic landscapes with seemingly no beginning nor end. Each track thus becomes a self-contained environment, built to explore and render into being long-form shifts in momentum, perception and density.

Even with its prioritisation of patience, Levitation is still a deeply eclectic and inherently multi-genre record, spanning everything from unfolding constellations of half step sine plinks to undulations of dnb-infused pulsations and melty dub-techno. Fluctuating effortlessly between light and heavy, the album remains rooted within the dancefloor and Struktur’s deeply consistent and personal sound.

From the effervescent hypnosis of Disparity and Carrier Loss to the woozy, weighty pull of Adrift and Suspension, the many stages of levitation are brought into patient focus across the album. Synthesised drums and gentle textures come to the fore on Levitation and Equilibrium whilst others such as Falling Through and Grounding whip into shape lashings of sampled breakbeats and the more abrasive aspects of the release’s rhythmic palette.

On Levitation, Struktur stays true to his name - navigating the space between propulsion and weightlessness with patient precision.
