David Myhr - Everything Is All About You (2026) Hi-Res

Few can pull this off without it getting cheesy, but this maestro knows exactly where to draw the line, and that’s how Milk & Coffee‘s cheerful whistles and handclaps made my day a lot better than it was. It’s one of the ten summery pop songs on Everything Is All About You, the third solo album by Swedish singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist David Myhr (formerly in The Merrymakers). All ten are worthwhile in their own way, often reminiscent of the psychedelic phase of The Beatles but just as easily leaning towards West Coast sounds.

Warm piano pulse and layered harmonies in conjunction with thoroughly arranged details and orchestral grandeur make this a beautifully polished exercise in melodic excess, not least thanks to an international cast of seasoned collaborators adding color to the pleasantly shining sun, without obscuring the voice at the center of it all. It has all the craftsmanship you could ask for (the poetic yet relatable wordplay also deserves a mention), but never forgets that a great tune should touch the listener in the first place.
