Paul Mauriat - How Deep Is Your Love (2026)

On How Deep Is Your Love, Paul Mauriat channels the melodic spirit of the late 1970s, transforming contemporary pop and disco hits into a collection of lush, easy-listening elegance. Released in 1978 as the 25th volume in his Brazilian "Grande Orquestra" series and issued in Japan with a distinctive obi strip, the album captures the French maestro at a moment of remarkable stylistic range. Across its twelve tracks, Mauriat's orchestra applies its signature crisp precision to an eclectic array of source material: the gentle melancholy of the Bee Gees' title track, the driving pulse of ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me," the arena-rock bravado of Queen's "We Are the Champions," and the ethereal synthesizers of Vangelis's "Pulstar". The result is a warm, impeccably arranged time capsule—one that balances soft-rock familiarity with Mauriat's refined Gallic touch, offering a listening experience that is both nostalgic and effortlessly elegant.
