British singer-songwriter Lady Nade, an award-winning artist firmly established as one of the most distinctive voices in UK roots, folk and Americana, is releasing a new album, "Identity". It builds on her earlier successful and critically acclaimed works — "Willing", "Hard To Forget" and "Safe Place". The new record is deeply personal: it carries an eclectic mix of the styles she grew up with, and while remaining grounded in folk and roots, touches of soul, pop, soft rock, jazz and blues run through the songs.
The album's themes are vulnerability, self-discovery and self-acceptance, drawn from personal experience and conversations with other people. Her drive to connect with others through creativity began at the age of 10, after the death of her grandmother: poetry gave rise to melody, melody to song, and song to connection. Exploring the positive link between music, community and well-being has been her life's work ever since. With this album she hopes to help listeners feel closer to themselves and unafraid to show who they truly are.
The record was produced and engineered by Archie Sylvester (who has worked with Jack Francis, Beans on Toast, Ferris and Sylvester) and Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd, Toots and The Maytals). It was co-written with Ivor Novello-nominated songwriter Boo Hewerdine (Natalie Imbruglia, Paul Young, Eddi Reader), with additional co-writing from Ferris and Sylvester and Katey Brooks (Bill Wyman, Paloma Faith, Brian May). It will appeal to fans of Nina Simone, Lianne La Havas, Olivia Dean, Joni Mitchell and Raye. To celebrate the release, Lady Nade will headline a UK tour from 6 to 21 November 2026.
