Jackie O Motherfucker – Sing Your Own Song (2006)

Sing Your Own Song (2006) is a key transitional milestone in the extensive discography of Portland-based collective Jackie O' Motherfucker, marking the band's shift from chaotic, noisy free jazz and destructive drone sessions to a more meditative, structured, and poetic form of avant-garde folk. Released during the heyday of the New Weird America movement, the album explores the deconstruction of traditional song-based piano and guitar accompaniment, transforming ancient American folk forms into viscous, hypnotic improvisational canvases.
