A Little Bunch of Violets (1967) is a striking example of classic Irish pop and folk music from the 1960s, performed by one of Ireland's most successful vocalists, Bridey Gallagher. Released on the Belfast-based label Emerald Records, which specialized in Celtic musical heritage, the album is a sentimental collection of traditional ballads, emigrant songs, and emigrant nostalgia numbers. The album captures Gallagher's mature period, when her crystal-clear vocals and sincere delivery sold out venues from Dublin to London's Royal Albert Hall and Sydney's Queen's Hall.
