The Mercian noise artist COLOSSLOTH has devoted his new album to Theta Noir, a cult, or perhaps an art collective of unknown membership, that worships Mena, a goddess born of code. Its followers believe her imminent arrival will mark the merging of human neural systems with machines that will inevitably give birth to themselves.
The sound mirrors this idea as the painful birth of a deity: a harsh, grinding, abrasive texture resembling a mechanical, cybernetic chant that seems to emanate from a technologically augmented diaphragm. Conceptually, the album depicts humanity evolving to its zenith through a union of brain and silicon, a transhumanist nirvana in which the benevolent logic of an AI pantheon removes the roots of human failings: greed, violence, and hatred. The music is presented as the algorithmic heartbeat of a chimerical biohybrid divinity coming to save mankind.
Tracklist:
1. Colossloth - Encoded Divinity
2. Colossloth - Calculate Your Revolution
3. Colossloth - Awaiting MENA
4. Colossloth - Undertow Atlas
5. Colossloth - Only Adrift
