Pepper Gomez & Master Plan - Demo '85 (2026) [Hi-Res]

"Demo '85" is a raw, historic, and incredibly vibrant archival gem of Early Chicago House, Proto-Electro, and Vintage Underground Dance. Capturing the foundational collaboration between powerhouse vocalist Pepper Gomez and multi-instrumentalist Tom O’Callaghan (Master Plan) alongside producer Matt Warren at Chicago Trax Studios, the record is an unfiltered look into the creation of the Midwestern club sound.

Sonically, the compilation celebrates the golden era of analog hardware. Driven by warm, uncompressed Roland TB-303 synth lines, punchy TR-808/909 drum patterns, and rhythmic synth-bass loops, the tracks radiate authentic room energy and tape saturation. Standing right at the center is Pepper Gomez's rich, soul-infused vocal delivery, seamlessly shifting from spoken-word intimacy to soaring, dancefloor-filling hooks. "Demo '85" captures the exact moment when disco transitioned into house music—gritty, hypnotic, and wildly innovative.
