Musician Louie spent 2024 and 2025 living in Boston, writing prolifically and playing regularly with a circle of close friends. He tested new sketches at Jon-Michael's apartment, and a song that held its own beside the traditional repertoire and covers the group loved to play stayed in the running.
He would then pick a few of his originals and meet up with Jake. At each session they decided what to play on every song and how many tracks they could get down in a day. Like the previous record, this one was made quickly, riding a wave of spontaneity. Louie and Jake wrote a couple of songs together, a pleasantly new experience. Everything was recorded in-house: microphones went up in Jon-Michael's apartment, where the whole group sang "Blue Ridge Mountain Blues" together. Almost before they knew it, they had a full new record.
The cover art was drawn by Nathan Hardyman, a commission that delighted everyone at Dirthog Newton. The record comes out with gratitude for the chance to make it and for anyone who chooses to listen.
