Prazak Quartet, Marc Coppey, Pavel Hula - Schubert: String Quintet in C, String Trios D471 & 581 (2015)

This release in Praga's Genuine Stereo Lab series features the Prazak Quartet playing Schubert's monumental chamber masterpiece, the String Quintet in C major. One of the composer's last works, the quintet embraces every side of Schubert: exquisite lyricism, Viennese Gemutlichkeit, intense pathos and a powerful sense of struggle. It is paired here with two less well known works, the String Trios D471 and 581. For this recording, the Prazak are joined by violinist Pavel Hula and cellist Marc Coppey.
