Norwegian AOR queen ISSA returns with ‘Fire and Ice‘, her most rousing and cinematic album yet. Each track of the album comes from the pen of legendary brothers Tom and James Martin (Vega), who created a sound that perfectly captures the spirit of 1980s melodic rock while remaining fresh and contemporary.
From captivating, emotionally charged ballads to arena-ready rock anthems, “Fire and Ice” presents ISSA’s powerful, distinctive voice, accompanied by shimmering synthesizers, punchy guitar riffs and lush, multi-layered arrangements reminiscent of the golden era of the AOR.
The album strikes a balance between fire and ice indeed–passion and introspection, intensity and elegance–and delivers hooks and choruses that resonate long after the music goes silent.
With this release, ISSA reaffirms her status as the central figure of European AOR, presenting an album that is both a nostalgic tribute to the ’80s and a modern statement of Melodic Rock that will resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
