Gurumaniax – Psy Valley Hill (2010)

Psy Valley Hill (2010) is an explosive international collaboration between two titans of classic German 1970s krautrock and a leader of the Japanese psychedelic avant-garde of the 1990s and 2000s. The project united drummer Mani Neumeier and guitarist Axie Genrich (the outstanding duo from the classic Guru Guru lineup) with Japanese guitar shaman Makoto Kawabata (the longtime leader of Acid Mothers Temple). Recorded without prior rehearsal in a format of pure, spontaneous studio improvisation, the album became a bridge between the heavy, chaotic German krautjazz of the 1970s and the ultra-powerful, guitar-driven, "supersonic" feedback space of Japanese acid rock.
