On Thursday, October 1st—World Music Day—Nena releases *debaixo d’água, com você* ("underwater, with you"), her third album of original material. It features ten songs that draw on personal experiences to address universal emotions: fear and calm, happiness and sadness, love, friendship, longing, desire, loss, and the search for balance during moments when everything seems to be happening underwater.

The title stems from a personal experience of the artist. A few years ago, Nena decided to take a scuba diving course, despite her fear of being underwater and not knowing what she might encounter around her. What began as discomfort unexpectedly transformed into a source of calm.

It was from this discovery that *debaixo d’água, com você* was born: the realization that calm and fear can coexist, and that not everything requires an immediate answer. The "with you" (*com você*) adds another dimension to the title. It could refer to someone who has always been there, someone who is no longer there, someone who has just arrived, or even the self. The album explores these presences and the traces each one leaves behind.

This duality runs through all ten songs. In "só depois, só depois" ("only later, only later"), the album's opening track, Nena writes about the pressure to do it all—to always give 100%—while putting off rest, relationships, and life itself for later. Shortly after, in "estou com saudades de casa" ("I miss home")—the album's second advance single—she admits to feeling both happy and sad, contrasting life on the road, moving from city to city, with the desire to return home and to the people who remain there. There are loves that time transforms into “afinal tínhamos tudo” (after all, we had it all); the desire to keep believing in love becomes “o amor existe” (love exists)—the debut single that introduced her to the public; and reunions that seem to defy chance become “nada é do acaso” (nothing happens by chance), a track featuring Os Quatro e Meia. In “holograma” (hologram), Nena looks back at a past relationship and the person she was within it—a song about learning to recognize one's worth and finding freedom after letting go. In “deixa-te de coisas” (stop overthinking), she trades the need to understand and control everything for the impulse to live in the moment.

One of the album’s most personal moments arrives with “não foi isso que combinamos (para minha avó)” (that’s not what we agreed on [for my grandmother]), written for Nena’s grandmother. It is a song about loss, but also about what remains afterward: the memories, objects, habits, and the presence of someone within the people they left behind. The past resurfaces in “eu vi um fantasma” (I saw a ghost), before “sexo e a cidade” (sex and the city) closes the album with the quest for a happy ending—one that doesn't necessarily have to be perfect, just sincere.
