German double bassist, composer, and WDR Jazzpreis winner Caris Hermes teams up with the WDR Big Band for the album Rise, released via the JazzJazz record label. Recorded at WDR Studio 4 in Cologne, the project transforms her original small-group compositions into expansive big band arrangements.

The album fuses modern big band, contemporary jazz, and orchestral jazz, highlighting Hermes's expressive double bass playing within a rich brass soundscape.
