Singer-songwriter Stef Chura returns from a seven-year hiatus with her album «Dancing Alone on the Concrete», a record grounded in the search for love and emotional resilience. Moving between sparse piano arrangements («Lovesick») and gentle daydreaming («Wishin'») to driving fuzz-guitar anthems («Babydoll»), the album reflects newfound maturity in her songwriting. Recorded in Athens, Georgia, the sessions were produced by Robert Schneider (Apples in Stereo), David Barbe (Sugar), and Andy LeMaster (Bright Eyes). The track «Danny» features guest instrumental contributions from Mike Mills and Peter Buck of R.E.M., while the closing track «Heavy Hitter» demonstrates the album's eclectic arrangements with massed whistling and brass.
